IT Management Blog: my thoughts about putting the "i" in IT

Plato's Revenge, Part 2 - Plato's laptop

It turns out that laptop's are over 2500 years old! As the picture on the right proofs, the old Greeks invented the laptop already around 500 BC. The picture is a painting by the ancient Greek Douris is displayed in the Museum of Berlin. It shows a man holding a folding tablet.

I just had to include this in my blog. I used the title Plato's Revenge (see my first blog post) because we live more and more our lives through the virtual world of more or less mobile computers.

Thanks to Tom Worthington who presented this at Cebit 2010 in Sydney as part of his presentation on Optimising Sites for Mobile Devices and Search Engines. Further information can also be found on Wikipedia.
