This blog is about experiences and insights from day to day IT management. I won’t go into too much detail of the technology itself but focus more on the information management side of IT. In the end it is the information aspect of IT why we use it. We use IT to share information, to communicate – transfer information from each other –, to process information through a guided process and to store information for later retrieval. IT is in constant change. Every day there is new technology being created. Our expectations of IT and our needs change just as fast. It also means that the role of IT in organizations constantly changes and therefore the management of IT will always be a challenge. We need to look at what we use IT for and what information we want to process with it. This is what I call putting the “i” in IT.
Because we live more and more in a virtual world and live or work and private lives through technology, a call this blog Plato's Revenge. In "The allegory of the cave", Plato already considered the fact that what we see and experience might not be the real world but just a projection of it.
